KIDDER Node Antenna Work 2nd March 2002

It took quite a while to get the Simon hoist up the drive, and position it correctly.

Despite a fear of heights, Paula was given a hard hat and thermal jacket, and told to get in the basket with Iain G4HAQ to "inspect the antennas". She wasn't told that the hoist wouldn't be coming back down until all the antenna work had been done!

The basket felt very open, and the huge jacket was much appreciated in the cold and windy weather. It seemed the whole neighbourhood was watching the fun.

As you can see, the hoist arm would only just fit between the houses.

Nick G6AWT operated the hoist controls, sent tools and antennas up and down on a rope, and taunted Paula incessantly.
